International Kissing Day: Kissing On The Pier

It's tougher every year to keep up with all the cards and presents you have to buy - or at least it is for me - but there is one holiday that works for me really well: I always know what to get, I never have to worry about if it fits and on this occasion, regifting is actually a great thing. Yep, yesterday was International Kissing Day - and this year our friends the Brits did it up right.
Now for those of you who might think gay in the UK just means Graham Norton and G-A-Y, well, there's a bit more than that. For instance, the home of the Beatles, Liverpool, is also the home of Liverpool Pride - and on Wednesday afternoon they were out at the Pier head, over by the Liver Building, kissing all comers, so to speak. (The Liver Building, by the way, has an interesting [history](http://www.birminghamuk.com/liver.htm) of its own: the clock faces on that building are the largest in the UK, even larger than the ones on Big Ben, and the liver in reference actually refers to the Liver Bird, which is represented at the top of the building.) You can follow the kissing action (and send a virtual one of your own) on facebook - or, despite the fact that it's a day late, you could just get out and start kissing, wherever you are, knowing that you're not just kissing at random; you're celebrating an international holiday, and damn it, even if you didn't get those Kissing Day cards mailed out on time, you're *still* going to do it right. So let's get to it, folks, because if there's one thing we all know about International Kissing Day, it's that lips aren't gonna kiss themselves.
