Twelve year old Britain's Got Talent contestant Ronan Parke was a public favorite this year. Here he covers Gaga's "Edge of Glory." It's angelic.

When I was in middle school I won first place in a couple of statewide singing competitions. As soon as I hit puberty my singing career went down in flames. Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen to this kid.

I remember a similarly talented boy named Billy Gilman. It's not unusual to be such a prodigy, but unfortunately it might be unusual for him to maintain success past early adulthood.
The voice will have to change in timbre, but the talent is there. Hopefully he'll be protected and balanced in his life by parents committed to tempering his success with proper grounding.
Good luck to the lad. He certainly has potential.

He's a cutie, yes, and a Bieber-ette with a voice. But I am far more intrigued, I must say, by the notion of your own middle-school singing career. Please, do tell! There must be stories and life lessons -- the drama! the competition! the thrill of victory! It's like Toddlers and Tiaras for little boy singers!

Guess I should have seen it yesterday since You Tube ans SME, whoever they are, has blocked it from being seen in America. Hrmpf! :-(

How funny, you're the second or third person to say that. As soon as I put it up, someone on Facebook said it was blocked in the US. It still works fine for me though. Odd.
