According to Joe.My.God., StopSB48-Sign.jpgsupporters of an effort to overturn California's FAIR Education Act (SB 48), will not meet the required amount of signatures to place a repeal measure on the ballot. He quotes an e-mail message from anti-gay group Stop SB48 that reads:

"The News is Not Good ... it is doubtful we will get the number of signatures we need to qualify. Unfortunately the last several deliveries of mail have not been what was expected and a large number of petitions have been pulled out because of errors. From all appearances, we would need a miracle to qualify this referendum."

I thought you had to hear the Good News before you got a miracle? If the "News is Not Good," well, I suppose your God has abandoned you and you're to blame for the next wildfire or hurricane or something. God hates California fundamentalists! He told us so!!

Well if this is true- we have really dodged a bullet with this one. Yay!

I presume, Bil, that you are saying this with sarcasm and with your tongue in cheek -- if you aren't, then you need to read Alex's recent post.

Instead of throwing the same mud back at the fundies that they throw at us, I would suggest we point out that maybe they did not get their signatures because their (and our) God is a God of Justice, and that God just now stood up for Justice.

This is just the positive, thankful, grateful, joyous way of saying the same thing you did, except it is less hateful ... and it also just happens that for mainstream California to see us as thankful and grateful, instead of hateful and vengeful, is wonderful PR for us.

As Alex might say, a little Buddhism goes a long way.
