The Committee to Repeal SB 48 - a newer version of the antigay StopSB48 crowd - filed a proposed initiative on Wednesday, Nov. 16,
with the California Attorney General's office to again try to eliminate LGBTs from the California FAIR Education Act. THIS time, instead of trying to repeal the entire FAIR Act, the initiative calls for striking out the words "lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans" from the law that goes into effect in January. Filing for an initiative gives them more time to collect valid signatures to qualify for the 2012 ballot.
This is obviously a developing story - including how this move will impact the slow re-organizational efforts at Equality California.
