"This isn't the start of some brand-new life. I actually like a lot about the one I already have. But now the fear and paranoia are gone. And my life can finally make sense to the people who matter to me."

-- Salon.com's news editor, Steve Kornacki, in one of the most heartbreaking and wrenching coming out stories you'll read. It makes me want to give him a hug and then punch him in the arm and take him out for a beer.

I read all Steve's columns, and this one was so awesome. I would have loved to add a note of support and happiness in the comments, but omg, getting logged there now is like doing an international transaction.

Although what he went through made me wince and feel sad, I am so happy that perhaps now he is well on the path to personal acceptance and living as his true self.
