Senator Jim DeMint, in a speech opposing interim Ambassador to El Salvador Mari Carmen Aponte, references an OpEd Aponte published in El Salvador applauding the country's record on LGBT right. The senator apologizes on behalf of the United States to any "community and pro-?family groups in El Salvador who were insulted by Ms. Aponte's attempt to impose a pro-?gay agenda in their country."
