Glee star Jane Lynch, who sits on the board of the LA Gay and Lesbian Center, called Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka "renaissance men" who are "beyond extraordinary and as a couple have created the most stunning gay American family portrait....Thank you David and Neil for putting beautiful face on Amnerica's notion of what a gay family looks like."

NPH was funny: "It's hard to believe that it's been 40 years since the Center first invented gays and lesbians. But David and I were so happy that they did." More importantly, said Burtka, "we're happy we can stand here today as a same sex couple with children and not feel like we're some sort of freak show or some secret government experiment gone awry."

Valerie Solanas has a jar of glitter and FIGHTING the white/gay/cis/male/privileged/famous/attractive/funny/who has their life together MAN!

Far be it for me to say who the LA Gay and Lesbian Center awards. But here is a guy who, though many suspected he was gay, waited a long time to ever admit it.
I am sure there are some more deserving couples out there. Maybe some who went through adversity to get where they are today?
And what a choice of words....freaks. In L.A.?
