"Is Ron Paul a homo-phobe? Well, yes and no. He is not all bigoted towards homosexuals. He supports their rights to do whatever they please in their private lives. He is however, personally uncomfortable around homosexuals, no different from a lot of older folks of his era."

-- Former Ron Paul staffer Eric Dondero, "defending" his former boss against charges of racism, anti-semitism and homophobia. Dondero goes on to describe two incidents that stand out to him: in one Paul refused to use the bathroom in a gay man's house and in the other when Paul swatted away a gay supporters hand instead of shaking it.
