"If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter."

-- Martin Luther King Jr's actual quote that was condensed down to the rather conceited sounding, "I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness," for placement on the new monument honoring his legacy. The paraphrased quote is being removed after community outcry and will be replaced with a new one.
