I'm proud to be hosting the 3rd Annual Haas Convening of LGBT journalists, editors, and bloggers once again this year. This time around our sponsoring organization is the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. While we've met in New York and San Francisco previously, this year we're taking the show to Houston, Texas.

Our first year we focused on immigration issues. Last year's main topic was LGBT youth with a focus on homelessness and suicide. This year we'll be talking and learning about the political landscape as we head into the 2012 elections. party-balloons.jpgDon't forget that the convening will be live-tweeted, Facebook-ed, and usually someone live streams the entire day. Last year folks who couldn't attend were submitting questions to presenters and I'm sure that tradition will continue for this one too.

Bilerico Project is co-hosting a meetup with Joe.My.God. on Saturday, March 24 at 8pm. We'll be gathering at JR's in the Montrose district. Come out and meet several of your favorite LGBT journalists and bloggers from around the nation as well as some of the other readers and commenters you find on TBP and JMG often.

Come out and join us. The meetups are usually pretty well attended and combining with Joe should make the turn out even larger. Throw in all the other journalists and you've got a queer internet bonanza. (Hey, it is Texas after all!)

Hope to see several of you there!
