• South Bend, Indiana may finally get a human rights ordinance that includes sexual orientation and gender identity. The measure has failed twice before - in 2006 and 2010 - after conservative Democrats joined Republicans to deny LGBT people civil rights. The Catholic church is a huge influence in the area and many Democrats from the surrounding area are opposed to anything that remotely smells queer.
• New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn has set a date to marry her partner, Kim Catullo.
• A U.S. District Court judge denied a motion by Tarrant County College administrators to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a former professor alleging administrators violated the U.S. Constitution by preventing her from interviewing for full-time teaching positions because of their belief that she is a lesbian.
• Indiana's largest synagogue hosted an early LGBT seder for Passover last week. Rabbi Nadia Siritsky of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation said that since the Hebrew word for Egypt also means "narrow place," the holiday encourages LGBT people to "seek out freedom for ourselves and others, and to help people who are in narrow places to find freedom."
• Roland Martin's suspension is finished and he's been cleared to go back on the air with CNN.
• Police have identified two suspects in the murder of a Chelsea gay man who'd recently had a stroke. He'd hired the two as caretakers.
• Four students have left a Colorado high school's yearbook staff after the adviser wouldn't allow them to print a photo of two lesbians holding hands on a page about relationships. Administrators claim there was too much PDA in the proposed page and offered instead of a page about "diversity" that identified students by their religion, race, or sexual orientation instead of by name.
