I was first introduced to the Jimmy John's sandwich chain when I started college. I had friends that went there all the time, but I never really fell in love because I found the subs bland (I preferred something toasted). The veggie options were also greatly limited, so it just made sense to go somewhere else.Jimmy-johns-logo.png

Fast forward to nine years later (it terrifies me that I started college that long ago) and I now have even more reasons to never step foot in a Jimmy John's ever again.

Though these pictures came out a year ago, I hadn't seen them until today and really thought I should share them. The following were posted by Champaign-Urbana's Smile Politely, and show Jimmy John's founder Jimmy John Liautaud with his kills from an African safari in 2010. Take a look after the jump. I was disgusted.

Not only does Jimmy John Liautaud hunt large endangered species, he is also a right-wing nut.

First off he was involved with a financing scandal involving anti-immigrant Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio in 2009. He donated $10,000 on January 18, 2008, but seems to have avoided investigation.

More recently, Jimmy John's put pressure on and fired employees for trying to unionize. They do not give their employees any sick leave.

Am I wrong for hating this place? I have no reason to like Jimmy John's now more than ever. Will you keep eating there?
