Could you imagine leaving your home so that you can be out? I imagine a lot of us can. Diaspora is simply part of the LGBT experience in this country. People leave rural areas for cosmopolitan areas with more protections. People leave their families to create new more accepting families. Movement to a better life is something we know all to well.
For some of our LGBT brothers and sisters, diaspora is the only way to survive as an out LGBT person. Without moving from our homes, some of us face the ultimate consequence -- death. This is especially true for Iranians.
A few brave Iranians are speaking out about life beyond their oppressive native boarders and their hopes for a better future.
