Sci-fi god Ray Bradbury passed away today at the age of 91 reports io9. The well known author of such works as The Martian Chronicles, Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, he was one of my favorites.
Bradbury's grandson, actor Danny Karapetian, had this to say about his passing:
If I had to make any statement, it would be how much I love and miss him, and I look forward to hearing everyone's memories about him. He influenced so many artists, writers, teachers, scientists, and it's always really touching and comforting to hear their stories. Your stories. His legacy lives on in his monumental body of books, film, television and theater, but more importantly, in the minds and hearts of anyone who read him, because to read him was to know him. He was the biggest kid I know.
Bradbury won me over with Fahrenheit 451 when I was in 6th grade. Not that I wasn't a Sci-fi geek already, but it sure as hell fanned the flames.
As much as I love the man, his death has popped a certain song into my head that will be driving me nuts by the end of the day. In this video tribute by singer Rachel Bloom, she professes her love for Bradbury with explicit detail. I hope he had a chance to see it before he died. Check it out after the jump. It is NSFW if your office hates to hear "fuck" repeatedly.
