Astrophysicist and all around cool guy, Neil deGrasse Tyson, passionately explains at Comic-Con 2012 why the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) is the best starship designed. And maybe the design works so well that it could feasibly be a blueprint for a new spaceship - though I won't hold my breath until NASA receives proper funding.
