It's Time to Move on from Chick-Fil-Ageddon

Maybe it's just me, but somewhere in this whole Chick-Fil-Ageddon, I got lost. Over the past several weeks, a mega-attack on Chick-Fil-A took the media, blogs, and social media by storm. Videos, charts, parodies, multiple blog posts and tweets have flooded us with anti-Chick-Fil-A messages. And while that's great and all, I found myself wondering what's really going on here?

I'm not sure if there's any continuing direction to what we are trying to accomplish. If the goal was to bring attention to CFA's foolishness, we did it with flying colors. But if we were trying to change CFA's CEO's mind, then we'll be fighting for a long time. Dan Cathy has made his stance loud and clear, that's not going to change.

So what's next? We have called attention to his donations and practices; we got the media jumping on this story pretty much everyday now. We have succeeded in informing millions, but now what? Are we trying to shut CFA down? Are we trying to encase Cathy in carbonite? How much longer do we push? And what is the ultimate outcome?

To be honest, I think we have put way too much energy into this fight. It's so much energy that the overall message seems to be clogged. I understand we want to keep the pressure on, but there has to be some type of endgame soon. In my opinion, I think we should move on and move forward.

We don't need a 'National Kiss In Front of Chck-Fil-A Drive-thru' or dinners with Dan Cathy. I'm not sure that accomplishes anything or moves much forward. We have already put CFA and Cathy on the carpet, called them out and held them accountable. We have done a great job in providing the evidence, now it's in the public's hands.

Besides, we have bigger fish to fry. We will need to put the same vigor and energy in the next set of battles like the presidential election, state elections, ENDA and voter suppression.

Some will say that we can walk and chew gum at the same time, and I agree with that notion. However, I rather focus on where I'm going so I don't trip and fall on the cracks.
