A friend of mine once joked that I was a lesbian at heart because I'm friends with all of my exes and couldn't imagine life without them. It's true too. While our romantic relationships may have ended, I've always considered them friends or I wouldn't have dated them. Why lose one just because the romance didn't work out?
Songwriter and singer Matt Gold is one of those friends. My last serious relationship before Jerame, Matt has always had music in his veins and talent coming out of his pores. Influenced by Tori Amos and Rufus Wainright, Matt taught himself how to play the piano as a kid and writes all of his own songs.
After taking a couple of years off from performing to do modeling work and record a new album, Matt's new single, "Ordinary," is now available for download. His double-album "Drown Before You Swim" hits stores at the end of August. One disc - marked "Drown" has the darker song off the album while the other one, "Swim," has the more upbeat tunes.
Take a listen after the break.
