A little over a year ago, I shared this photo of "El Guano Loco" - the group of batshit crazy Hoosier bloggers that used to get together to talk politics and gossip about state issues. Last night we lost a driving force behind the gatherings when Joh Padgett passed away after an extended illness. He's on the far right in the snapshot.

Joh was one of the first "real" Bilerico readers back when it was just me typing out random thoughts on the internet. His involvement with local Libertarian politics, marijuana legalization, and progressive social issues were legendary and his dedication and energy never flagged no matter how sick he was. He loved to bring people together - as he did with our small group of wordsmiths and activists.

He will be missed. Oh, how he will be missed.
