Last week Tommy Thompson's political director for his senate race against Tammy Baldwin sent out a gay baiting email and tweet. Brian Nemoir sent out a link to a video of the Congresswoman dancing with a drag queen band at Madison's gay pride festival.
In his email, sent shortly before Baldwin spoke at the Democratic National Convention about "heartland values,"
Nemoir wrote, "Clearly, there's no one better positioned to talk 'heartland values' than Tammy."
Asked by reporters yesterday if Nemoir would face any consequences over his shameless messages, Thompson said that he'd moved Nemoir into "a different role" in the campaign? What could that be?
"Somebody else has taken over communications with the press," says Thompson.
Moving beyond whether or not the video was gay baiting (It was.) or whether or not Nemoir should have received his pink slip (He didn't.), watching the video raised one interesting question for me.
Video and deep philosophical question after the break.
