Life is awfully crazy for the editorial staff at Bilerico this week. At my day job we're getting ready to launch our first San Francisco BDSM event. Bil has a contracting job that's keeping him quite busy. And Jim's work is making bigger-than-usual demands on his time too.
It's probably just as well that we're so busy right now, because it helps keep us all keep from sitting and scrutinizing the upcoming election and its ramifications until we go mad.
It's no secret that there is a lot riding on this election cycle, and not just in states like my own, where LGBT rights are being put to a vote in the form of a public decision on same-sex marriage.
But more than that, the 2012 election has simply consumed our public discourse for an agonizing amount of time. Starting with the GOP primaries and the ridiculous Oprah-esq 'everybody-gets-to-be-a-front-runner' roller-coaster, to the frustrating, and at times farcical presidential debates, the American people, and those of us in the media world in particular, are exhausted by the whole thing.
