Minnesota Rejects Marriage Amendment

In a win that's especially dear to my heart, Minnesota, a state in the midwest, has rejected a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. I know it may be hard to believe, but I'm speechless.

A state law still prohibits gay and lesbian couples from marrying, but Maine, Maryland, and Washington state all voted to approve marriage equality.

(I also feel kind of bad for the poor Midwest. By the time this race was called, our guests were leaving and we were out of champagne. Midwesterners are always just a little slower than everyone else!)
