I thought I was done reporting on Danita "Anita Bryant" Kilcullen. But last week, after the Bilerico Project first broke the story of her racist attacks, she issued a statement claiming her Facebook account was hacked. What makes this especially laughable are the other race-baiting posts on her Facebook wall, which render her claims about being hacked highly unbelievable.
From Kilcullen's email statement:
My facebook has been hacked. I believe this to be a backlash following the June 24th BREC [Broward Republican Executive Committee] meeting when we learned that BREC Secretary Cara Pavalock sent emails as Secretary of BREC to members asking them to wear red if they support gay marriage, and to show support for those BREC members who bravely voiced their support for gay marriage in Anthony Man's Sun Sentinel article a couple of days prior. I sent a response to the Man article saying, e.g., "Who cares who is gay, whoever cared who is gay... why does this always have to be a headliner, and why is the BREC secretary using her position to influence the membership."
Chairman Truex and Vice Chair Butler addressed TEA PARTY FORT LAUDERDALE re this issue on Saturday, June 29 at our regularly scheduled meeting. No decision was made on what would be determined re Ms. Pavalock at that time; however, the TPFL membership present on that day did not agree that Ms. Pavalock should receive a "slap-on-the-wrist" as suggested by Chairman Truex, followed-up with 'business-as-usual'.
Following is a letter from Vice Chair Butler to me proposing to BREC the steps to be taken. The 15th of July was on this past Monday. Since I did not receive results from that meeting, perhaps they will be divulged at the next BREC meeting on July 22. I would like everyone to attend that.
Undeneath Vice Chair Butler's letter is the facebook posting and my "visit" from Bob Norman yesterday.
A little prayer from my friends is welcomed.
It's ironic that Kilcullen asks for prayers while she herself is preying on minority communities. In my previous post on Bilerico I included a photo she posted of former congressman Anthony Weiner along with remarks outlining her McCarthyist fear of Communist infiltration, allegedly based on the book The Naked Communist. On her Facebook rants, she often cites the "Communist" goals below and links them to Democrats and moderate Republicans (some of whom embrace a common-sense level of fairness):
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity, masturbation and easy divorce.
What I find remarkably puzzling is that, while Kilcullen is said to be strident in her distaste for divorce, she is reportedly divorced herself -- shacking up and living in sin, according to conservative Christian standards. It should also be noted that Florida statute prohibits the cohabitation of opposite sex couples, so her conduct is also technically illegal.
While I don't know the circumstances of her divorce, Kilcullen's continued attacks on elected Democrats are hypocritical and misplaced, as it seems that she has done more than her share of harm to the institution of marriage. Furthermore, she never once criticizes Republican legislators who pledge to protect the "sanctity" of marriage while reportedly cheating on their spouses during legislative sessions in Tallahassee.
And as for her views on LGBT issues, she is in bed with the radically anti-gay Florida Family Association. This weekend she called a meeting of the Fort Lauderdale Tea Party to sound the alarm about positive efforts happening at the Broward County County Board to protect all children and ensure them an opportunity for academic success.
