It's a tough time to be an "ex-gay" activist. As a counterweight to June's LGBT Pride Month, the Family Research Council -- an SPLC-certified anti-gay hate group -- tried desperately to make "Ex-Gay Pride Month" happen in July. But they just couldn't get it off the ground: citing alleged "harassment" and "anti-ex-gay extremism," they called the whole thing off.
But if at first you don't succeed...
The "ex-gays" tried again, holding a lobby day on Capitol Hill this week and a flashy press conference in front of the Supreme Court on Wednesday. According to Right Wing Watch, American Family Radio host Sandy Rios boldly predicted that "thousands of ex-gays" would descend on D.C. for the press conference.
But when the big day came, fewer than ten people showed up.
