reddit_gymshorts_dress_1.jpgHave you ever looked at a pair of oversized gym shorts and thought, "Damn, I could make a dress out of that?"

Me neither. But thanks to a few clever users of the news and entertainment website Reddit and the magic of social media, millions of American men will now pause briefly before hitting the weights to put both legs into one leg hole of their shorts, pull the other leg hole over their arm and onto their shoulder, and snap a selfie.

According to the Daily Dot, the fashion trend took off late Sunday night after a Reddit user posted step-by-step instructions to the site's r/funny forum. Other Redditors followed up with photos of themselves posing with shorts over the shoulder. Some attempts were more successful than others -- one Redditor wrote, "I just had to explain to my wife that the reason I ripped my new shorts was being I was trying to turn them into a dress."

Photos of guys in gym short dresses -- including a two-short, double-sleeved ensemble -- are after the jump.
