I ran across this video of YouTuber user Jumbled "pranking" Omegle users the other day and there's something about it that just doesn't sit well with me.
The service is one of those ChatRoulette knockoffs that hook you up with another random user with a cam. Since Jumbled is androgynous looking, he decided to let users think he's female before throwing out the big reveal.
This seems to play into passing privilege and also makes transgender people the butt of a not-funny joke. "OMG! You're a MAN! How shocking and unnatural!" When you throw in that his manner of "revealing" his true gender is by speaking in a deep "manly" voice, well... You get the picture.
So what are your thoughts on the video? Funny? Stereotypical? Anti-trans? Misguided or perfectly fine?
