renee_fleming_letterman.jpgHere's your must-watch video of the day, especially for all you opera queens out there: the divine Ms. Renée Fleming singing David Letterman's Top Ten list.

The topic of last night's list was top ten opera lyrics, which the soprano sang to some of the most well-known tunes in the entire repertory. Number ten was Puccini's glorious "O mio babbino caro," to which Renée sang, "Pope Francis says he's okay-o, with people who are gay-o" -- and yes, the velvety-voiced diva included a delicious glissando down to "gay-o."

Other tunes include the Toreador Song, "La donna e mobile," "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen" (the famous Queen of the Night aria), and "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana (which isn't actually an opera, but whatever). To the climax of Leoncavallo's sorrowful aria "Vesti la giubba, Renée wailed: "What's this berserk thing Miley Cyrus calls twerking?"

The video is after the jump. Take the time to watch all eight minutes -- it's pure delight.
