new-management.jpgI have an exciting announcement to share with Projectors today. I've loved my nine and a half years as Bilerico's Editor-In-Chief. From our tiny Indiana roots to our current incarnation as an award winning national LGBT news and commentary source, we've built an amazing platform for raising voices and furthering our agenda - all while having a lot of fun too.

Now its time for me to hand the Bilerico baton to someone else. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere, but I am taking on a different role and with it comes some changes. I'm gaining the freedom to be a Bilerico contributor instead of a day-to-day manager.

Managing Editor John Becker has been promoted to Editor-In-Chief and will be in charge of daily operations. John has increased our traffic and grown our social media presence dramatically in his time with us; it's only natural that he replace me as the head of the site. He has the drive and passion needed to take Bilerico to the next level and beyond.

I will still serve as the publisher and contribute regular posts each week - this is my blogging home and always will be. But, in nearly a decade, a lot has changed. I'm writing a book and regular op-ed column plus freelance articles. My consulting work, like planning an annual LGBT journalists conference, takes a lot of time and attention; all of that means less time for the site and I don't want Projectors to get the short end of the stick.

Since I always named a new Bilerico every time someone else took over the site while I went to a conference or on vacation, let me be the first to say, "The Bilerico is dead. Long live the Bilerico."

Please join me in welcoming John as the new face of Bilerico and give him as much support and love as you've given me over the years.
