Marsha Hunt is a 96-year-old Hollywood actress who was active in the 1930s and 1940s until she was blacklisted in the 1950s for left-leaning political activities. Hunt was a celebrity social activist before it was cool for celebrities to be social activists, and she's been engaged on issues like world hunger, poverty, and homelessness for decades.
A new documentary in production about her life, Marsha Hunt's Sweet Adversity, reveals that Hunt is a supporter of marriage equality as well. In fact, she's such a die-hard supporter that she composed a lovely ballad about it last year at age 95.
In the clip below, Glee actor Bill A. Jones and pianist Paul McDonald perform Hunt's song, which is titled "Here's To All Who Love." Jones predicts it will be sung "for many years to come at weddings all over the globe."
Sheet music is after the jump.
Incidentally, if you do decide to perform Ms. Hunt's song, particularly at your wedding, the Marsha Hunt's Sweet Adversity Facebook page requests that you record it and send them the video so that Marsha can see it. "She will be THRILLED!," the page admin writes.
