One of the things TIME magazine is most famous for is its rankings of world personalities. The two most notable examples are its annual "Person of the Year" list, which it produces every December, and its annual "Time 100" list of the most influential people in the world, which appears in April.
Although both lists are chosen by the magazine's editors, they also let readers get in on the action by allowing them to cast their vote in an online poll. And in this year's TIME 100 reader poll, the name of a beloved LGBT celebrity is near the very top of the list: trans actress and advocate Laverne Cox.
Cox was briefly in the #1 spot this weekend, dethroning annoying pop star Justin Bieber. She currently sits in fifth place behind Bieber, Katy Perry, and two Indian politicians.
If you'd like to vote for Laverne Cox, you can do so by clicking here. Voting closes tonight at 11:59 P.M., so cast your vote and spread the word!
Wouldn't it be amazing if a trans woman of color won the TIME 100 reader poll? Let's make it happen -- we can't let Bieber win!
