You'd think disgraced researcher Mark Regnerus's recent humiliation in Michigan -- where a federal district judge blasted his "expert" anti-equality testimony as "entirely unbelievable and unworthy of serious consideration" and slammed his "study" of same-sex parenting as a transparent right-wing hit job -- would have chastened him, but you'd be wrong.
This week, Regnerus and six other sociologists filed a friend-of-the-court brief in U.S. District Court in eastern Louisiana, arguing that that state's marriage discrimination amendment should be upheld and same-sex couples should remain barred from legal marriage... because children.
Relying on extremely outdated gender stereotypes and prominently citing Regnerus's junk-science "New Family Structures Study," the brief intentionally distorts the more than three decades of sociological research -- conducted by dozens of different scholars in dozens of different studies -- which overwhelmingly shows that kids raised by same-sex parents do just as well as those raised by opposite-sex parents.
Looks like Mark Regnerus is hell-bent on taking his junk-science "study" in for a second opinion. Talk about a glutton for punishment!
