Last week we met Abbey, an eight-year-old Australian girl with gay uncles who hopes to persuade anti-LGBT Prime Minister Tony Abbott to support marriage equality by writing him letters.

Abbey pledged to write Abbott every day for a week. When we last checked in with her, she'd penned letters one and two. Now, thanks to her uncle Gregory, we have letters three through seven -- and they're every bit as adorable as the first two.

Letter #3 is below; the rest are after the jump.

Letter 3
To Tony Abbot

I'm just reminding you that
I'm writing to you once a day for a
week because I would like the law
changed. So that gay people can get
married.

Letter 4

Here, Abbey reminds the Prime Minister that even when you run a country, you still need to answer your mail.

To Tony Abbott

this is the 4th letter I am
writing to you about gay
marriage.

I haven't had a reply from
you yet so when you have time
Please write back.

I know it's hard running a
country.
I would love it if you
wrote back
Will you change your mind
about gay marriage?

Letter 5

In this note, Abbey reassures PM Abbott that it's okay if he evolves on marriage equality.

To Tony Abbott
Change is normally for the best.
It's okay to make a change to laws
and the way you think.

Letter 6

This time the precocious eight-year-old tries a different tack.

To Tony Abbott
I only have one more letter to you.
I would absolutely love it if you would
change the law about gay marriage.

from Abbey.

Letter 7

Here's Abbey's last letter -- the conclusion of her one-woman letter-writing campaign, which she sent today:

To Tony Abbott
This is my last letter
I've loved writing to you
Gay marriage is what my uncles should have
the right to do :)
Please, please change the law :)

So far, Prime Minister Abbott has not yet responded to Abbey's letters.

Of his niece's efforts, Abbey's uncle Gregory Storer writes:

What an amazing young woman she is. At the age of 8 she seems to have a better grasp of the world and what needs to change than our own leaders do.

What's really good to know is that the subject of marriage equality is a topic of conversation in her house. That's what we need: people prepared to have the conversation and then to act and do something.

To that end, Storer hopes that people will follow Abbey's lead and contact their elected representatives in support of the freedom to marry. With the Australian parliament likely to vote on marriage equality in the near future, every voice counts.
