Bio
Rodrigo Ugarte is a writer from Oakland, NJ. Born in Lima, Peru, Rodrigo and his family moved to the United States a decade ago. He currently attends Ithaca College in upstate New York and will begin his senior year in August, studying Writing and Latin American Studies.
Aside from his academic work, he writes for two magazines on campus and will be a section editor for one of them, Kitsch Magazine. He has covered political, social, cultural issues happening locally as well as nationwide.
When in Jersey, Rodrigo works part-time at Jo-Ann Fabrics, attending to mothers and grandmas’ crafting and sewing needs. If you do stop and see him there, don’t hesitate to ask for a coupon. One might also find him meandering about the Met on some weekends.
