Animal Liberation by Peter Singer ISBN: 0-06-001157-2 Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, lists this book as the "one book that changed my life." That's a pretty powerful testimony - and was enough for me to want to check it out. I've just started it, but it seems to be an interesting assessment of the impact of the animal liberation movement as well as an expose on factory farming.

The Gospel of Mary Magdalene by Jean-Yves Leloup
ISBN: 089281911-1

I read The DaVinci Code recently, and it got me interested in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. I'm extremely fascinated with biblical history, especially with the Apochrypha and the Gnostic gospels of Thomas, Phillip, etc.
