A question to Christian pastors

As a non-Christian, who has nonetheless read quite a bit of the Bible and went to Sunday school for very many hours, it puzzles me why it should take a Christian congregation more than about five minutes to decide to aid the oppressed and welcome those whom society has rejected.

What I think churches should do is worry more about the oppressed in AMERICA than the oppressed in other countries. Believe it or not, we have homeless,hunger and poverty right here in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
