Editor's Note: You've seen Steven Colbert's "Better Know a Lobbyist," but our version is so much gayer! Each weekend, we spotlight a different TBP contributor.

This week we're chatting with Brent Hartinger, one of those Two Gay Guys we love so much. We're lucky to have him here at TBP, but he is also a contributor over at After Elton.

Follow me after the jump to find out why Brent is a fan of chocolate and erotic stories.

1. How did you get roped into writing for TBP?
You know, I don't recall! I think I got a random email from Bil or Alex.

2. What was your coming out experience like?
To the first other person, I told a friend I had something tell her one night. I hemmed and hawed all night and didn't actually say it until 8 AM the next morning. Such a coward!

Coming out to my parents was far, far, FAR more embarrassing. I had stored my things at my parents house, post-college, and my mom went snooping. It was her own fault, but of course she found some erotic stories I had written. Yikes! Still don't like to think about that one.

3. If you were in your favorite musical, which character would you most like to be?
If I say Jesus Christ in "Jesus Christ Superstar," that makes me sound self-important, doesn't it? But hey, he's got that great song in the Garden of Gethsemene!

4. What book should every Projector read?
Giovani's Room by James Baldwin changed my life. It's Brokeback Mountain written back when it was actually happening.

5. Best thing about being a blogger?
The immediate feedback. Even if it's negative (which it hopefully isn't), it's nice to know you're being read. In my other job, I write books for teenagers (including gay teens). But you write a book, and then you have to wait two years for it to be published to get any feedback at all!

6. Favorite late night snack?
Chocolate covered raisins. Oh my GOD they're good!

Ah, but which one is his favorite book of his own?

It's still my birthday, so I wish to provide alternative, hopefully entertaining, answers to the above questions. (Hey, this posting has been up over fourteen hours and we have to prime the pump.)

My Answers: (Please refer to the questions asked)

1. "Well, I heard the bell ring, and Mohamed Ali was in one direction, Sonny Liston was in the other, and Sly Stallone was in the middle, it came to me: It is nobler to write than fight."

2.(courtesy of Robin Williams) "What were you doing on the night of the 23rd?" "Well," penis responded, "It was light, it was dark, it was light, it was dark, it was light it was dark and after that I don't remember!"

3. Bette Midler in a remake of "Bath House Betty."

4. "How to Self Thread Film."

5. Having your beads read, and your palm crossed.

6. Caramels with drippy soft centers.

And with that I close for another year. I promise to be a good commenter now that I have another year's life experience under my belt. I am truly making light of no one else, and wish everyone else well. I'm nice to old people and have a pleasant smile that perfectly masks the sick and twisted man within!

Awesome Brent. Yes, it was a random email from me. After I saw your essay on the Logo debate on Visible Vote, I was like, he's blogging? Better email quickly.

And I'm so glad you joined up! Your videos are awesome!

Haha, erotic stories. Me it was the history list on the family computer. And, no, the site wasn't Bilerico....
