"God made dinosaurs 4,000 years ago as ultimately flawed creatures, lizards of Satan really, so when they died and became petroleum products we, made in his perfect image, could use them in our pickup trucks, snow machines and fishing boats."

-- Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin in an interview with the Anchorage Daily News in 2006.

UPDATE: Several Projectors have let me know in the comments section that this quote is fake. You can find the original source linked there.

"Lizards of Satan" ??? Are you f*cking kidding me?? How is this not all over the MSM? How could any sane American seriously consider voting for this ticket, knowing that this nutjob would be one step away from running our country? I'm astounded, dismayed, and frightened to the very core of my being.

In defense of "Caribou Barbie", that remark is apocryphal. It simply didn't happen. It's a hilarious fabrication and rather believable considering her other statements...

Blogger made this quote up as (clearly labeled) satire: http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/newsquotes.asp

She didn't say this. It's a made up quote from a (darn funny) blogger, found here.

It got picked up by some idiot emailer and spread like lightning, even though the blogger who made it up has been out there talking about how it's fake.

it's hilarious, but she didn't say it.

It started here.

thanks, guys - i may have overreacted a bit :) (it was early and i didn't have coffee in me!) that's still not to say that she's not one scary woman!
