Gay escort and bareback porn star Harlow Cuadra was found guilty of first degree homicide yesterday by a Pennsylvania jury. harlow-cuadra-2.jpgCuadra and his business partner/lover Joseph Kerekes were accused of killing rival porn producer Bryan Kocis in January 2007.

I've always had a thing for white trash bad boys, so I've followed the case somewhat. The details are absolutely gruesome. Cuadra and Kerekes wanted to work with porn star Brent Corrigan (real name Sean Lockhart) but Corrigan was locked into a contract with Kocis. The two pretended to be an aspiring porno actor, set up an "interview" with Kocis at his home and then slit his throat and stabbed him 28 times before burning his house down to try and cover up their crime.

The duo fled after police named them as suspects, but were apprehended after contacting Corrigan and his business partner, Grant Roy. The foursome met in California and Roy recorded the two confessing to the murder.

Details after the jump.

According to the Wilkes-Barre News:

Dallas Township police, state police at Wyoming and county detectives said Cuadra and Kerekes planned to kill Kocis by sending Cobra Video an actor's application under the name Danny Moilin on Jan. 22. Two days earlier, the pair purchased background information through USA People Search that provided Kocis' address, telephone number and names of neighbors.

harlow-cuadra.jpgKocis invited Moilin to his home on Jan. 24.

Authorities learned Cuadra and Kerekes rented a 2006 Nissan XTerra and purchased a knife, a .38-caliber handgun and ammunition at a pawn shop in their hometown of Virginia Beach, Va., on Jan. 23. They checked in later that day at the Fox Ridge Inn in Plains Township and drove past Kocis' home that night.

Investigators traced a number of e-mails and cell phone calls Kocis received to Cuadra and Kerekes, including an e-mail account that was used to send the actor's application on Jan. 22.

The Yahoo! e-mail was never used after Kocis' murder.
Cuadra blamed Kerekes for killing Kocis. He said he was inside Kocis' residence talking to him when a jealous Kerekes stormed inside and slashed Kocis' throat with a knife. [Lead prosecutor Assistant District Attorney Michael] Melnick said Kocis was nearly decapitated.

I've always felt rather bad for Cuadra. His lover was an older dominant man and during the trail Cuadra testified that he was often afraid of Kerekes. A jury found him guilty, but I can't help but wonder how much of this case was simply a young guy getting in over his head to try and please his lover. Add in a healthy dose of greed and sex and you've got a recipe for disaster.

god save us. what a totally ugly story. such a total complete waste of lives for no purpose. the usa is so over the top violent. 8 years of repuglicanism has only worsened it. No industrialized country in the world comes close. and it doesn't have to be that way. Due almost completely to racist, sexist, chauvinst politics.

This reminds me of my posting about "Curious George"
author Allen Shalleck's tragic murder, but for much less financial reward for a life.

Did some research a while back on violent crimes involving gays and lesbians.
It might surprise no one that the LGBT involved in violent crimes, especially first degree murder, most often get the death penalty and are actually executed.
Whereas, straight folks who committed similar or worse crimes, are on death row much longer and usually die of natural causes while there.

Sex crimes committed by gays and lesbians usually do involve the young. Even then, they tend to serve the full sentence and aren't paroled as often as their straight counterparts.

I'd be surprised if Cuadra is given a life sentence, rather than the death penalty outright.
Perhaps because his victim was another gay man, it might warrant having a life sentence instead.

As many of you know, when straight guys commit the same crime on a gay man, claiming the 'gay panic' defense, the sentences can range from barely five years to 15.

Either way, whether victim or perp, the operative issue here is the diminishing of gay lives.

I'm watching this one too.

The PA jury could not unanimously agree to kill him, so he gets life without parole according to Sirius OutQ News.

His lover was an older dominant man and during the trail Cuadra testified that he was often afraid of Kerekes.

According to the same report Kerekes was 33. At 27 Cuadra is his junior by only 6 years. I'm not going to characterize the comment, but as a person who date younger men it made me feel a bit shall we say queasy.

Apparently I wasn't following that closely, Greg. I thought Kerekes was 43. He looks ten years older in his pictures too.

Although I must say, Cuadra did use the whole "the older man led me astray" defense...

warning: it is very hard gay porn so if you want to see it go ahead and if you don't then don't. it is very hard porn so don't blame me if you go ahead and watch it and then you don't like it.
