Hello Projectors! You may have noticed that I have been kind of absent from Bilerico lately. There's a good reason and yesterday Bil gave me the go-ahead to let you in on the secret.

The Bilerico family is expanding to include

Bilerico DC will offer the daily experiments in LGBTQ that you've come to love at Bilerico, but we'll add a smart new crop of bloggers who will cover the ins and outs of gay politics and culture inside the Beltway. Bil, proud papa that he is, has handed me the Bilerico DC tiara and crowned me managing editor.

Just as it takes a village to raise a child, its going to take the Bilerico extended family to help Bilerico DC grow. So come on over to the new site (http://dc.bilerico.com/) and help us look for bugs, things to improve, and make suggestions!

While you're there, be sure to sign up for the Bilerico DC RSS feed or follow Bilerico DC on Twitter so you don't miss a thing! You can also join the Bilerico DC Facebook group, friend Bilerico DC on MySpace.

Here are a couple of posts to give you taste of what's to come:

Virginia is For Haters - Virginia General Assembly Slights Gays Again Filed by Michael Hamar
No Time Like the Present for DADT Filed by Sean Bugg
Red State Insanity Filed by Michael Crawford

Head on over to Bilerico DC and welcome the new contributors with some comment love.

More DC political blogging?

As my teen would say: "Squeeeeeeee!

Congrats on the new site, Michael; can't wait to read more- great news!

OMG, I think The Bilerico Project is turning into The Borg Project. You guys are taking over the US!

TBP-DC is off to a terrific start, with lots of informative posts which have't appeared here. Thanks for taking on this...erm... project. :)

Congrats to Michael and the entire B-DC crew. Michael has been a longtime ed team member and - like Waymon - I knew I could trust him to run a Bilerico site of his own. I know he'll keep the Bilerico flavor while putting his own stamp on it.

Oh - and Dale... We have 3 other state sites in the works. *winks*

Eww eww... where?!? (God, I'm a nosy SOB) Congrats, Michael.

#1 - New York
#2 - California

and #3 is still a tossup between New England and Arizona. We're hoping to have them all up in the next couple of months.

We also have a forum coming soon and a complete redesign of the site to include more of the state content, the ability to highlight users and their comments/forum postings, the possibility of diaries, and a news service.

This should be a good year for us. ;)

Since GLAD is aiming for all 6 New England states to have equal marriage by 2012, I'd love to see a focus on my neck of the woods!
