"Every day innocent students fall victim to relentless harassment and discrimination from teachers, staff, and fellow students based on their sexual orientation. These actions not only hurt our students and our schools but, left unchecked, can also lead to life-threatening violence.

Hatred has no place in the classroom. Every student has the right to an education free from harassment and violence. This bill will protect the individual freedoms of our students and enshrine the values of equality and opportunity in our classrooms."

Hopefully there will be a day when gays are understood and treated like ordinary Americans. Just as someday there will be a day when gays understand that to a heterosexual, the thought of two men together does not "compute" or make any sense to us... not one bit. It goes against our human nature. We prefer to see someone run their nails through a chalkboard then the thought of two men holding hands. I hope that people who beleive in diversity will also some day stop discriminating against Heterosexuals and understand us a little bit better.
