I first heard about Foxxjazzell on Monica Roberts's blog and, since I'm always looking to learn about LGBTQ musicians, I looked her up on YouTube and "Split Enz" was the first result that came up. It has an awesome electro-hip-hop beat to dance to, and, is it just me, or is the video mocking Gwen Stefani?

I just love this song, though. This is "Sexual Thang," with a great street organ that adds a certain dimension:

This is "Feel the Vibe," with a definite disco feel coming from those synthed strings:

And here she is on Tyra, where Tyra declares her the "first transgender rapper." Well, probably not the first...

OK, a little more Tyra, where they start talking about why women are allowed to touch in music videos but not men. Oh, and then Keith Boykin calls mainstream hip hop minstrelsy.
