Okay Projectors, we're the proverbial bridesmaid. We're always part of the party, but never actually make it to the alter on our own. This time, however, we've got a chance to catch the bouquet - but we need your help to do it.

Indianapolis' alternative newspaper, Nuvo, does a yearly "Best of Indy" special edition that lists dozens of the city's top restaurants, bands, shops, nightclubs and websites. It's a really big deal and winners display their plaques prominently as a sign of their worth.

While the mag is gay friendly and has often listed gay bars and the local queer church as nominees, we're the first queer venue to be listed as one of the city's top cultural gems. I want to bring home the plaque this year and make a statement about Indianapolis' LGBT population.

Please take 2 minutes out of your day to vote for Bilerico Project as the best locally owned website in Nuvo's 2010 Best of Indy survey. Our reader base is more national in scope now, so we're counting on all of you to help us bring home the gold.

Don't know who else to vote for? Jesus Metropolitan is the local LGBT church and Dave Smiley is a very LGBT-friendly radio personality. I'd highly recommend voting for them too! Voting ends on Friday.

Thanks Lorion! If Projectors share it on Facebook and tweet about it, it'll help improve our chances dramatically.

Done. I do hope that ArtBox, White Rabbit Cafe and the annual Brew-Ha-Ha are worthy, as well.

Bil, I think you want to get to the altar (not alter) and you want to throw (not catch) the bouquet.
