Judge Vaughn Walker is expected to rule on the constitutionality of California's Prop 8 today sometime between 4-6pm Eastern/1-3pm Pacific. We'll bring you the news as quickly as the decision is announced.

IMG_0013American Foundation for Equal Right will be hosting a public event at West Hollywood Park if you're in the area. They plan to start shortly after the verdict is released.

So what do you think the odds are? Did we win one or did the fundies take this one too? What will the decision mean for the community nationwide and what do you see happening next?

After their abysmal "defence", I cant imagine the fundies taking this. But then again, anything is possible where politics are concerned, so forgive me for having a bit of caution mixed with what I hope will be a favourable decision for us.

However, my fear is that he's going to write the decision so narrowly that it takes us only a half-step further. And when it lands at the Supreme Court (which it inevitably will should it go our way), it'll be really interesting to see how a "personal liberty/small government/strict Constitution!" court will receive it.
