A delightful pre-World War two shot of a group of young German soldiers having fun with fig leaves.

Number 5 looks shy. Why German?

They're so cute! And #2 is holding his fig leaf a little low. With good reason? :)

Those cuties sure spend a lot of time in the sun - check out those tan lines! Gloria, I could go for a steady diet of this kind of photo.

Number 4 seems to have known the secret of keeping a fig leaf in place without holding it: hair pins.

It's sad to reflect that these lads were probably killed or maimed in a horrible war in just a few years. ANY photo from Europe, of any group of young men at the time, carries the double edge of happiness and doom. But keep the photos coming...esp if you have more like this..for aesthetic consideration only, of course.

I was thinking the same thing. There were still bunkers around Lorient when I lived there, on the Atlantic coast of France. They were built by the germans towards the end of the war preparing for the allies to invade (Americans chose Normandy's coast, not Brittany's).

The bunkers are just out there, unprotected, open to anyone. Kids go there to smoke and drink and make out and tag. I was there with a friend and realized that there were 14-year-olds there too, when the bunkers were built. They were built for teens. Except those teens were there, preparing for the allies to invade right along that coast, to kill them.

Very poignant, but I've gotta wonder why they are sucking on their fingers? Pretty suggestive: could this be some pre-war softcore???

What is especially sweet is that less than 10 laters, these soldiers were probably helping round up jews, gypsies, homosexuals, and the like to be put into concentration camps. but omg so cuuuuuuute
