You knew it was coming... This video of two elderly bumpkins singing the praises of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party in church will make your jaw fall on the floor. Set it to patriotic music and you've got, "The Battle Hymn of Sarah Palin."

Um, was this seriously in a worship service? Because this is the sort of thing that gets your IRS tax exemption revoked.

Churches can and do much worse than this and the IRS does nothing. Churches are passing out information indicating who their members should vote for, ministers are applauding specific candidates from the pulpit, candidates are attending and speaking at services. There is no separation of church and state. Many churches have been an arm of the Republican Party for decades.
The IRS has no interest in this video.

There is one group working to end partisan politicking by houses of worship. Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU). Since 1996 AU has reported to the IRS houses of worship they believe have violated IRS regulations regarding partisan activity. Once the IRS accepts a claim, it becomes a private matter, between the IRS and the offending party. Unless the group reported decides to make public the IRS ruling, we never know the outcome.

There has been an orchestrated effort during the last two election cycles, by evangelical pastors, to organize a protest. They have encouraged pastors to violate the regulations, in hope of taking their case into court.

It appears that not too many pastors are accepting the challenge, as AU could not find a significant number of pastors participating.

oh my, that's just...well, Wrong!

C'mon you guys... I think it's nice that they're allowing the patients at the State Hospital of Alaska (for the criminally insane) so much creative leeway.

The shame of it all is that these people can't seem to see her for the hack that she truly is. I'd say more, but words about Palin are wasted words.

"Freezes congress in it's tracks"
"hunt some skunk"
"When she get's to Washington it'll be cold as hell"
"Ends representative democracy, insofar as it exists, by silencing elected officials"
"Cause even the small, furry, pole-kittens to raise a stink"
-Due to the contrast between "cold" and "hell" it is unclear if they mean that her "arctic wind" will have died out completely or hell will freeze over before she get's to Washington.

Properly read, political propaganda is the strongest case against political faith.
