It's great that they caught the gay bashing of this young South Carolina man on surveillance video. Maybe they can catch the perpetrators who did this.

It happened to me 40 years ago, when the KKK in white sheets assaulted me and held my arms behind my back and pounded my eyes with the old fashioned hard contact lenses in them in a deliberate attempt to blind me. Historically the KKK used to blind their assault victims so that they could not identify them in a court of law.

Gay bashing is still happening today all over this country. I admire the guts and courage this young man has to come out on mass media news and defy all assailants to shut him up about who he is, especially immediately after being violently assaulted by a mob of 8 men. This inner strength and courage is exactly what is needed for us to win our rights.

We're not going back into the closet, and no one will ever shut us up.

20 bucks says his race played a part as well.

Precisely why I urge members of our community to learn to defend themselves and to consider travelling armed where they legally can.
The only reason that I have never been a bashing victim is because when attacked I won the fights.
IN my state it is a pretty simple matter to get a license to carry a firearm.

And some right-wing Repugnantcans are fighting State Senator Mark Leno's Bill to include teaching about homosexuality in schools?
It's politically incorrect to bash any other minority group (and right wingnuts apologize for racist activities saying they didn't know - how could they not know?) and scream we need to take America back.
That would be a great idea, actually. Let's take it back to where the 14th Amendment was added. Here is part of it:

"... nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
