The equality group PROMO in Missouri reports that the LGBT community has been severely impacted by the devastating tornado that hit on Sunday night - including the destruction of the Spirit of Christ MCC Church in Joplin, as well as the homes of congregation members, including the pastor and his partner. PROMO is collecting donations and supplies. (h/t to Rex Wockner)

MSNBC is reporting that 117 people are dead, 1,500 are unaccounted for, and there is a "moderate risk" that more severe weather is coming.
