Hidden Surprise In Dr Martens First and Forever Ad Campaign

There are many jokes and stereotypes to be made with the LGBT community and Dr. Martens shoes. For me, they've been both some of the most comfortable, and least comfortable shoes I've ever owned. But the new Fall/Winter 2011 advertising campaign is full of surprises.

This image is the center of the campaign, and looks to be a tender moment between two cute boys. But it's really more than meets the eye, because one of those boys is Agyness Deyn, and she's one of the hottest supermodels in the world.

The rest of the campaign makes Agyness a little more obviously female, if only because it's difficult to hide those legs unless the angle is just right. Still, I can't help but quietly applaud the subversion of genders in the above image. But what do you think?

I look forward to anti gay heads exploding over the implications here. The whole point is looking further and deeper, instead of having a primitive and barbaric reaction.
We already know what happened with J. Crew and the little boy with pink toenails.
