Singer Etta James passed away yesterday, so it only seems appropriate to highlight this performance of "Precious Lord" by James, Chaka Khan, and Gladys Knight. The New Yorker's Mary Ellen Mark calls James "a singularly butch performer" who "knew something about loneliness, and, from time to time, what to do with it."
