If you haven't heard by now, CNN's Roland S. Martin is under fire from the gay community.

Yesterday, Roland tweeted this statement:

If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham's H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him!

RolandMartinCNN.jpgAs soon as this tweet was posted, Roland heard from many gay activists and allies. Roland claims we are overreacting and we can't take a joke. Later on, GLAAD got involved and demanded CNN to fire Roland:

Martin has a history of anti-LGBT views. GLAAD is calling on him to be fired, joining many other LGBT activists and bloggers.

CNN hasn't respond, however, I'm not so sure he should be fired.

Yes, Roland was wrong for what he said; it was insensitive and inexcusable. However, he wasn't at CNN; he was at home. If he was on live television then I would wholeheartedly support his firing.

I do believe he should be seriously reprimanded for his actions, but I can't see this as a reason for Roland to be terminated.

Please let me know what you think.
