I may have touted Justin Ward's videotape audition to be Kelly Ripa's co-host on "Live With Kelly," but a former Bilerico contributor has made it to the final round.

michael-buckley.pngMichael Buckley joined the site when we first launched as Bilerico Project back in 2007. At the time, he wasn't a famous YouTube personality yet - just another gay guy with a funny and spastic take on entertainment news. He had his own small section on the front page called "What the Buck?" that's similar to the You Gotta See This block currently.

Buckley is competing for the "Live! With Kelly" spot with two women from New Jersey, two men from New York, one woman each from California, Tennessee and Washington, D.C. and one man each from California and Michigan.

There are rules to vote, which requires logging in at Only people 18 an dolder can register, and one vote per person or per email address per day is allowed. Voting, which began Monday, ends at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11.

On Twitter, the bespectacled live-wire is @buckhollywood, and has more than 615,000 followers. On the audition tape, he says that Ripa is one of them.
He also is a fixture on YouTube, with a show called "What the Buck?". The celebrity news and humor show posts four- to six-minute segments online every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He has more than 998,000 subscribers and has more than 359 million video views.

Buck has urged his followers to vote for us in almost every single blog popularity award we've been nominated for. It's time to return the favor. Get off your ass, make a couple of clicks, and vote for Buck to win the coveted spot next to Kelly Ripa. I can't think of a better choice for the show.
